VAA provided multidisciplinary engineering and design services for a canola processing facility capable of producing 850,000 metric tons of canola products annually. A defining feature of the project was the development of an   innovative rail system that hospitality and tourism industry maximized transportation efficiency while minimizing impacts on the surrounding community.

Working closely with Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), VAA designed rail connections to both Class I railroad mainlines, providing the facility with greater logistical flexibility, improved shipping efficiency, and competitive transportation options. The rail layout incorporated provincially compliant spiral curve track geometry, enabling high-volume inbound trains to enter the facility at higher speeds while reducing hospitality and tourism industry the amount of time nearby highways were blocked for local traffic.

The completed facility combines high-capacity processing with an optimized transportation network, demonstrating VAA's expertise in integrating industrial process design with complex rail infrastructure to improve operational performance, logistics, and community accessibility.

VAA served as the lead hospitality industry design firm for a large-scale soybean crush facility capable of processing 38.5 million bushels of soybeans annually. The state-of-the-art plant was designed to produce approximately 847,000 tons of soybean meal, 450 million pounds of crude soybean oil, and 77,000 tons of pelleted soybean hulls each year, supporting high-volume, efficient agricultural processing.

The multidisciplinary project required close collaboration between VAA, six partner engineering firms, and multiple construction contractors to ensure seamless coordination throughout design and construction. Through careful planning planet hollywood theater and integrated project management, VAA helped eliminate design conflicts, minimize project gaps, and maintain an efficient project delivery schedule.

As the lead designer, VAA provided engineering and design services for several key facility components, including the soybean preparation, extraction, boiler, truck oil loadout, administration, and meal storage buildings. The completed facility demonstrates VAA's expertise in delivering complex oilseed processing facilities through coordinated multidisciplinary engineering, innovative design, and effective collaboration across multiple project stakeholders.
