U4GM Helldivers 2 Makes Every Medal Feel Like Part of the Next Build
Helldivers 2 has plenty of reasons to keep dropping back into the Galactic War, especially after the Devoid of Liberty update expanded the battlefield with the Void, new Illuminate threats, SEAF support, and a higher progression ceiling. The Castellan’s Creed Legendary Warbond also gives players another collection of weapons and armor to work toward, with its equipment unlocked through Medals after gaining access to the Warbond. For players balancing several progression goals at once, Helldivers 2 Samples remain useful alongside the other resources needed to develop a broader collection of equipment.
Medal progression is more interesting when treated as part of a larger loadout plan rather than simply a number that needs to increase. The current Warbond system gives players another reason to think about which weapons and armor actually fit their preferred combat style. The Castellan’s Creed Warbond, for example, includes the R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, P/40-K Bolt Pistol, armor with the True Grit passive, capes, banners, and vehicle cosmetics.
The R/40-K is especially suited to players who enjoy staying slightly behind the main formation and picking targets carefully. The Void makes this style more challenging because the Wretch can move quickly, dodge attacks, and leap toward Helldivers. A player concentrating on distant targets can suddenly find several enemies closing the gap. That means a precision-focused build needs a reliable close-range answer somewhere else in the loadout.
The easiest solution is squad cooperation. A marksman does not need to handle every enemy personally. One teammate can watch the flanks while another focuses on heavier targets. This allows the precision player to spend more time doing what the weapon is designed for rather than constantly turning around to deal with enemies that have already reached the team.
The Crusher creates another interesting tactical problem. Unlike the fast Wretch, it is a slower but much more durable threat that can regenerate if players allow the damage to stop. A squad should therefore decide quickly whether the Crusher is the immediate priority. If it is already blocking movement or threatening the formation, concentrated fire is usually more valuable than spreading damage across several targets.
There is also a useful lesson in the order of targets. When Crushers and Wretches appear together, the fast enemies can be more dangerous than the larger one because they can surround the squad while everyone is focused on the Crusher. One current strategy is to clear the Wretches first when they begin closing in, then concentrate on the Crusher once the immediate pressure has been reduced.
That kind of target prioritization becomes particularly important during objectives. The latest Void missions include tasks such as destroying Illuminate spires and gateways, completing data reconnaissance, and infiltrating Illuminate structures. Secondary activities can include destroying Void mutations, extracting research materials, and opening another extraction zone. These objectives encourage squads to think about positioning instead of simply following the biggest enemy group.
For example, an objective inside a confined area favors a different loadout from an objective in open terrain. Close-range weapons become more comfortable when enemies are forced through narrow entrances, while precision weapons benefit from clear sightlines. A squad that understands this can adjust equipment before deployment rather than discovering the problem after landing.
The same principle applies to armor selection. The True Grit passive on the Castellan’s Creed armor improves weapon handling and support-weapon reload speeds, making it particularly interesting for players who want to build around precision or heavy weapons. Faster handling can be valuable when a fight suddenly changes from a long-range engagement into a close-range scramble.
SEAF support adds another layer to these decisions. The Devoid of Liberty update allows SEAF platoons to assist Helldivers during operations, with different soldiers providing additional firepower, medical support, and other battlefield assistance. Their presence can create temporary windows where a squad has more freedom to complete an objective or reposition.
The best way to use that support is not to stand around and watch SEAF fight. If friendly troops attract enemy attention, Helldivers should use those seconds productively. Reloading, completing an objective interaction, moving toward the next location, or setting up a defensive position can turn a temporary distraction into a meaningful advantage.
Medal progression itself also fits naturally into this loop. The Castellan’s Creed Warbond costs 1,500 Super Credits to unlock, after which its content can be redeemed using Medals earned through gameplay. This creates an interesting choice for players who have limited progression resources. Unlocking a new weapon may immediately change a favorite build, while saving Medals for another page can open more options later.
That choice becomes easier when a squad already knows its preferred roles. A player who frequently handles precision fire may prioritize equipment that supports that role. A player who prefers aggressive close-range combat can focus on equipment that improves survivability and handling. Instead of unlocking items simply because they are available, players can build toward a specific combat identity.
There is another reason not to ignore ordinary missions while chasing progression. The current Void campaign is designed around unfamiliar environments and enemy behavior, which makes practical experience more valuable than simply reading weapon descriptions. A weapon can look excellent in the Acquisition menu and feel completely different after five minutes surrounded by enemies.
Testing equipment in different difficulties can also reveal weaknesses. A build that performs perfectly during a relaxed mission may struggle when enemy numbers increase. Conversely, a weapon that seems mediocre during ordinary patrols can become extremely useful during a defensive objective where enemies arrive from predictable directions.
Resource management remains important during these experiments. Not every patrol needs to be attacked, and not every optional objective needs to be completed. If a squad is already low on reinforcements, chasing one distant resource location can create more risk than value. Experienced players often become better at Helldivers 2 not because they shoot more accurately, but because they recognize which fights should never begin.
Extraction deserves the same discipline. Once the main objective is complete, it can be tempting to spend every remaining Stratagem on one final enemy group. Saving those resources for the extraction zone is usually more practical. The final few minutes can become chaotic very quickly, especially when the squad has already accumulated damage and lost some reinforcement capacity.
U4GM can provide another convenient option for players who want to prepare additional Helldivers 2 equipment while experimenting with different builds. Affordable choices and an emphasis on secure purchasing can make it easier to explore more setups without making every equipment experiment dependent on another long progression cycle. The actual missions still provide the most useful test, because battlefield positioning and enemy behavior ultimately determine whether a loadout works.
The current Void campaign has made progression more meaningful because every new unlock can lead to another experiment. A marksman can rethink positioning, a heavy-weapon player can build around assisted reloads, and a support player can design a loadout around keeping the entire squad moving. Players who want a convenient way to keep that progression moving can also consider buy Helldivers 2 Medals when preparing their next equipment-focused setup.
