We learned over the All-Star break that NHL.com, as part of a site redesign, also planned to start offering users an expanded statisticspackage. Specifically, the advanced, shot-based metrics that have been an ongoing debate around the game since, oh, the start of the decade or so. It's a welcomed change. Offensive/neutral/defensivezone start percentage: Percentage of faceoffs in a given zone while a player is on the ice. Points/60 minutes of play (for and against) Goals/60 minutes of play (for and against) Primary a sists/60 minutes of play Secondary a sists/60 minutes play On-ice save percentage: The percentage of shots goalies stop when a player is on the ice And, of course ... Momentum Rel: The percentage of shot attemptstakenin the immediate five minutes after a player fights COB/60: Expre sed as a proportion, the number times a player say "Come On Boys" over the course of a game Beauty/60: See above Jarrett Culver Jersey
