Zymbo Climapuro Analysis of Public Information and Reported Product Claims

The HVAC industry in the United States follows strict rules set by the Department of Energy (DOE). These rules require all heat pumps sold or installed in the country to meet specific energy efficiency standards. The Zymbo heat pump, also promoted as the ClimaPuro system, does not meet these requirements based on its published performance information. The available data contains missing ratings, inconsistent calculations, and non-standard efficiency claims.

Required Ratings Are Missing

Federal regulations require residential heat pumps to be tested under AHRI 210/240 procedures and rated using SEER2 and HSPF2 standards. SEER2 measures cooling efficiency, while HSPF2 measures heating efficiency. These are the official efficiency ratings required for products in this category. The Zymbo heat pump does not provide certified SEER2 or HSPF2 ratings in its product materials. Instead, it uses EER for cooling and COP for heating. EER and COP are not the legally required ratings for residential heat pumps in the United States. Without certified SEER2 and HSPF2 data, the system does not comply with federal efficiency rating requirements.

Failure to Meet U.S. Efficiency Standards

The published specifications for the system list a cooling capacity of 8,831 BTU. Under federal energy regulations found in 10 C.F.R. Part 430, a heat pump with this capacity must achieve a minimum SEER2 rating of 13.4 to be legally marketed and installed in the United States. Because no certified SEER2 rating has been provided, the product cannot demonstrate compliance with the minimum efficiency standard. Without official certification, there is no proof that the system satisfies DOE requirements.

Performance Data Is Inconsistent

The product’s published performance figures also contain calculation differences. According to the specifications, the system delivers 8,831 BTU of cooling while using 750 watts of power. This calculates to an EER of approximately 11.77. However, the promotional brochure lists the EER as 10.6. The mismatch between the calculated and advertised values indicates that the published performance data is inconsistent. Similar inconsistencies are also present in the heating performance information. These differences make the product specifications unreliable and create further concerns about the accuracy of the efficiency claims.

Conclusion

A heat pump sold without proper DOE-required ratings and certification may face regulatory action in the United States. This can include penalties, restrictions on sales, or the removal of products from the market. Sellers and installers may also face financial and legal consequences for distributing non-compliant equipment. Consumers may also experience higher electricity costs if the system does not perform at the advertised efficiency levels.

The published information for the ClimaPuro clearly shows missing required efficiency ratings, inconsistent performance calculations, and failure to provide certified compliance data. These issues confirm that the system does not meet the standard federal efficiency and testing requirements for residential heat pumps in the United States.
