The Helmet-Mounted Nocpix MINI 2 H25 Is the Thermal Monocular You Didn’t Know You Needed

Having a thermal rifle scope on your gun is, in some instances, a necessity, especially if you hunt under cover of complete darkness for game like furbearers or hogs. Executing a shot effectively and ethically requires as much.

Yet there are some instances in which you will be equally well served with a supporting thermal optic like a monocular, especially one that can be helmet-mounted for scanning, spotting, scouting and more, like the new Nocpix MINI 2 H25. Here’s what you should know.

Powerful Performance

First, this new Nocpix thermal monocular is fast and powerful for its size and price point. It’s powered by a 640x512 thermal sensor with a 12μm pixel pitch and a frame rate of 60Hz, for lag-free viewing, even of fast-moving targets. It’s no slouch, even though there are better, faster thermal monoculars and scopes.

More Than Just Thermal Imaging

Arguably the greatest feature of this new Nocpix thermal monocular is that it is not just a thermal monocular. It is also a night vision monocular. In tandem with its thermal sensor, the MINI 2 H25 also sports a CMOS digital night vision sensor so that you can use either night vision or thermal imaging as the conditions require. It also affords you a redundant backup as well.

Small Form Factor

Much of the value of the MINI 2 H25 comes from the fact that it is compact and light. It’s just about 2.5 by 5 inches or so, and at just over 8 ounces, it barely weighs even half a pound. It’ll hardly increase the weight of your loadout, especially considering it’s not just a handheld but can be helmet-mounted as well.

Flexibility

The Nocpix MINI 2 H25 doesn’t just give you the ability to run thermal imaging or night vision; you can use it as a handheld thermal monocular or as a helmet-mounted optic, thanks to its native compatibility with industry-standard NV mounts and its integrated dovetail.

Multiple Color Palettes Supported

Like many other thermal monoculars, the MINI 2 H25 supports more than one color palette, some of which are low-light friendly. For instance, this thermal monocular supports a crimson color palette on its 1280x1024 AMOLED display, which will help to preserve your night vision.

Long Battery Life

The MINI 2 H25 is powered by an internal battery but is also compatible with a helmet-mounted external battery pack; together, these can deliver up to 4 hours of uninterrupted power to support your night hunts.
